About the program

The VMC Capability Building Program supports Volunteer Management Committees that operate regulated OSHC services in Queensland.

The project combines online modules and resources to reduce governance and compliance risk through empowering volunteers with the knowledge they need to effectively govern their service.

  • Strengthening financial oversight and sustainability.

Module 1

Strategic Governance

Clarifies the role of the committee as an approved provider, working within your constitution, managing risk and understanding key legal frameworks.

Module 2

The National Quality Framework (NQF)

Explains the NQF, NQS, National Law and Regulations, regulatory priorities, child safe standards and quality improvement planning in plain language.

Module 3

Financial Management

Covers revenue streams, CCS and funding, fees, budgets, cash flow and financial reporting, with simple tools committees can use to oversee finances.

Module 4

Employment Relations

Looks at awards, contracts, recruitment, performance, WHS, psychosocial safety and industrial relations responsibilities in the OSHC context.
